Fitness Friday - Week 7 - My new body

What do you think of the new me? After just a month of Fitness Fridays?

That's not me.

That's my head badly stuck onto Jennifer Aniston's body, but a girl can dream. No?

But it could be us, couldn't it. *Dreams*.

I've spent a long weekend in Cornwall this week and we got a lot of fresh air walking up and down hills and along the coast. It was really refreshing to get out of the house and spend some time as a family. What wasn't so healthy though was the cocktails (I just can't resist a Kir Royale or a Bellini, I just can't) and the fact that we were eating three big meals a day, topped up with a bucket load of clotted cream.

But we were on holiday. Right?

I'm so bad. I know this. Today I am starting the MuTu System which will encourage a change in my eating habits and my attitudes towards fitness and exercise. The programme is designed especially for women who have had children, no matter how long ago and is tailored to suit this length of time. Also, I have a fabulous personal cyber-trainer that comes with the package. Wendy Powell (@nomorexcuses) has kicked me up the bum on a number of occasions to get me going with MuTu, as I often let working and childcare get in the way of my fitness.

From reading the MuTu literature (I read through about half of it last night) I have learnt that you can improve your body, taking up very little time. Even just 10 minutes a day and a good fridge can help you on your way. Because it's designed for mums, by a mum, it's clear that thought has been put into the amount of available time us lot get.

It's funky and contemporary too - the design is eye-catching and urges you to get going and I simply can't wait. I'm finishing off the booklet today and then I'm on my way. And if I stick to it? I can loose up to 2 stone during the 12 week programme and learn to enjoy fitness whilst obtaining a flatter mummy tummy.

I'll let you know how I get on. If you fancy joining in with the Mutu Package you can purchase the system from the Mutu website. For 15% off just quote FITNESSFRIDAY as your discount code.

Don't forget to link up your fitness post to the Monkeying Around link up. New codes will be available later this week - I just need to liaise with Adele. I'm a bit disorganised at the moment.

I have received a complimentary Mutu System 12 week programme to review. This free product has in no way affected my views or opinions of the product. Always blogging with integrity.

Oui Chef! Table 5 - Frozen with Love

February is a bit of an ambiguous theme, Frozen with Love.

To celebrate BECKICKLESIE becoming the latest Mumbassador for The New Ice Age, and not forgetting that we celebrate Valentines Day next Monday, I decided to team up the two themes and allow your imaginations to run wild.

You may want to share a slow cooker recipe that you make a batch of (and freeze) for your family? Maybe a lovely Valentines Day dessert using sorbets? A photo of a family roast, cooked with love, using some Aunt Bessie goodies or frozen veg? Some homemade ice-cream?

You could also choose to submit a frozen themed post and a valentines themed post separately - double points!!

Just remember, it doesn't have to be a recipe. It can be a photo, a story, a poem... anything.

The two winner/s from this month's Oui Chef! will win some goodies courtesy of The New Ice Age. The link up closes on Sunday 27th February 2011 at 23:59hrs. Just add your linky here:

I have included all the badges below for all levels of Oui Chef! Please add on an extra 25 points for each of your entries to get your new total. If you have won this months Oui Chef! add an additional 50 points.

The winner of last month's Oui Chef! Table 4 - You Swine! is Mandi (well, her hubbie) of She Means Well But... for offering up a truly original, gorgeously rustic family dinner. You can check it out here. And that's an extra 50 points for Mandi's total.

If you're new to the game, just add this badge...

Daddy's gone back to work...

Today is a sad day in the BECKICKLESIE household. Will Cheffy Daddy working pretty much none stop all year round, he'd recently plugged a few weeks holiday. Almost three.

Today he went back to work.

Everything's quiet. We'd kinda got used to having him around all the time. We're missing his jokes and his cuddles and his general loveliness. It's been a jam-packed three weeks and we rounded it off yesterday by going to see Disney's Tangled. How impressive! Really! It's the first non-pixar Disney film I've seen in a while that I've thought was pretty bloomin' good.

Of course, Kidder loved it. Oh, and I'm a princess because I have long hair. I knew I was destined for greatness.

The Gallery: Week 45 - 24 Hours

For zee Gallery this week, I chose Friday 4th February for my 24 hours post.

I got lucky, as we were on a mission all the way from Lancashire down to Cornwall to review the lovely Bedruthan Steps Hotel in Newquay (more of that to come) so it was quite an action packed day for the BECKICKLESIE household. So here it is, 24 hours in the life of the BECKICKLESIE Clan...

Kidder gets dressed

Sleepy and grumpy on the way to the airport following disappointment that the aeroplane
does not pick him up from the front door of our house.

Lunch at the airport - tuna butties, crispies and grapes

Flight delayed two hours - passing time with Daddy

Getting silly with Mummy

Finally! Nearly time to get on the aeroplane!

Mummy and Daddy's lovely king size bed!

Gorgeous Location

Peep-eye. The children's area of our room.

Cosy in front of the fire

Valentines - A cutesy personalised gift

I've been sent the cutest personalised book which is simply perfect for Valentines.

With the day of love less than a week away, you're probably thinking that it's too late to order something special, that will leave your loved one thinking that you've really put the thought in.

Don't despair! Love is...

It's Your Story, who sent me the lovely personalised Christmas book for Kidder have a gorgeous range of personalised calendars (starting any month) and 'love books' which feature the original 'Love is...' artwork of Kim Casali's. Just supply your names and a few other details such as your favourite TV programme, restaurant for example and your extra special book will be whizzed to you really, really quickly.

It's not too late - you have until 10th February to order this delight for your partner. Wonderfully unique, high quality and a great personal keepsake; it ticks all the boxes.

You can get yours here. I chose to have mine personalised with my Grandparent's names. It's their 50th Wedding Anniversary soon and that's definitely a love story worth celebrating! Do you celebrate Valentines Day? What will you be buying or doing (not too graphic please, my poor mind can't handle it!) for your other half this year?

Sponsored Post - I was sent a gorgeous, personalised Love is... book from It's Your Story. The product was fab and therefore so is my review of the product. Always blogging with integrity.

Bring on The New Ice Age!

I am so very excited to announce that I am the new 'Mumbassador' for The New Ice Age

I'm definitely jumping in with both feet for this one - it's going to be great to get some 'mum recipes' up on the blog, as well as the delights that Cheffy Daddy brings (when he's not swamped with Christmas/New Year/Valentines at work).

Contrary to popular belief, being attached to a chef doesn't actually guarantee Michelin starred meals every evening. Most days, and nights, our lovely Cheffy is slaving away cooking at work. And it's me that puts the tea together.

I'm not a chef, but I can cook. I understand the importance of making sure your child gets good, healthy meals; I understand the importance of a balanced diet and the role it can play in assisting their growth and development. And this is why I support The New Ice Age.

Did you know, for example... 'a fresh pea loses most of its nutrients within hours of picking' and that frozen fish can sometimes be fresher than your fresh fish? Both are frozen so soon after they've been sourced that all the healthy nutrients and goodness that our children need is locked right in . Because fresh sometimes takes so long to get from being sourced to landing in your saucepan, these key goodies for your kiddies' tummies are simply lost.

And let's be honest Mums; how easy is cooking from frozen? And not only that, I know so many of you are fans of the old 'slow cooker' - how many of you cook a batch and stick a few portions in the freezer? Cutting down on our waste. Genius. Home made food, ready to be warmed when you simply don't have the time to make a meal from scratch.

It's the future...

I've tasted it.
